HANDWOVEN WOOL RUGS |
My love for sheep and wool extends beyond Shetlands, and I'm particularly drawn to some of the other older heritage breeds. These breeds have a rich history; and their wool was highly valued for its length, luster, and strength. Unfortunately, today the population of many breeds of sheep is diminishing; and some fall in the 'watch' or 'rare' classification for global conservation.
I weave rugs using my Shetland wool and wool from other heritage breeds of sheep.
The
result is gorgeous wool rugs--rugs with character, luster, irresistible curls
and texture. All natural colors (no dyes used)--whites, blacks, greys,
browns. Some exhibit a lot of variation in color, from light to dark
shades. Some are solid in color; some have a rainbow of natural
colors. Every rug is unique.
If you are interested in a rug, please Contact Us for more
information. I weave several each year and at times have one or more
available. During the summer months my rugs are also for sale at Whitefish
Bay Farm and Gallery in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
